Wedding in Polignano a Mare, Apulia

The wedding of Katy and Enrico was one of the first weddings in Polignano a Mare that I had the chance to photograph. I can definitely say that it was unforgettable! The bride comes from there and the groom is from the sun-baked island of Sicily. Even though they both live in the northern surroundings of Parma, they told me that there was absolutely no other option than organizing a wedding in Polignano a Mare. Apart from the tradition of getting married in the homeland of the bride – the place itself creates a special atmosphere, bringing the joy and love to the first plan. It’s visible in the pictures, too!

The wedding ceremony was held in the traditional manner, in the church of Santa Maria Assunta, with all of the family and friends present. The wedding reception took place in Tenuta Monacelle. It is a place inspired by the traditional Apulian architecture and culture. Set between the olive trees of Valle d’Itria and Adriatic Sea, this venue makes you see and hear a story made of gestures, smells and voices of an authentic land. Dry stone walls in whitewashed colors, red geraniums, and pinnacles of the traditional Apulian dry stones – trulli, made an extraordinary surrounding to the wedding of Katy and Enrico.
